Cody Colvin is a US-based film, television and commercial media producer, director and entrepreneur. After an investment real estate career which saw him help close over $150M in transactions, Colvin founded Colvin Theatrical, which has since become an internationally-recognized name in film production, television and broadcast, and advertising.
Colvin’s media career highlights include producing, directing, developing and creating an internationally-covered film series for the American Association of Community Theatre, which premiered during AACTFest 2021 on Broadway on Demand. Colvin’s digital solution allowed AACT’s bi-annual festival - the largest community theatre gathering in the world - to move to a virtual space, after facing the possibility of pandemic-forced cancellation. For AACTFest, Colvin directed and produced 11 full-length films in under 27 days, and completed post-production on all 11 films in under 14 days. The festival was sponsored and supported by Disney Theatrical, Concord, Broadway Licensing, and more - and featured many of Broadway’s biggest names as keynote speakers.
In 2022, Colvin directed and executive produced the social justice piece STINNEY: AN AMERICAN EXECUTION, along with its accompanying documentary, for PBS. Working closely with PBS, Colvin created, directed, produced and edited the film (the first full-length opera shot on cinema cameras), earning recognition as “the next Karl Freund” from Broadway literary agent Barbara Hogenson. The program aired in June, 2024. In addition to STINNEY, Colvin has produced nearly two dozen other opera, concert and event capture films, and is producing an upcoming slate of Broadway show captures.
As a commercial director and producer, Colvin has executive produced, directed and created content for a number of clients in multiple sectors, including Shark Tank-funded SHEFIT, one of the world’s most successful sports bra companies, as well as world-leading furniture manufacturer Comfort Research. As a content strategist, Colvin has brought his clients an average engagement increase of over 1,000%.

As a documentary producer, Colvin produced and helped manage the motorcar racing film No Brakes, which earned a best documentary award nomination at the Motor Films Awards, alongside other nominees BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jeep, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Ford, and more. He also executive produced the documentary ART THE REDEEMER, which covered the creation of STINNEY on PBS.
In addition to media, Colvin performs professionally as an opera singer and featured soloist, with stakes in companies in several industries, including commercial real estate. Colvin is a frequent featured speaker, with interviews syndicated in over 100 languages, and guest lectures in advertising and negotiation at his alma mater, Kalamazoo College.
